So everybody knows that Atlas Xfer cases are available in 3.0, 3.8, 4.3, and the newest 5.1 to 1 ratios. Now they're available in 6.0:1 and are going to have 3 lever, 4 speed transfer cases. The question is... how low can they go and is lower that much better? It's a great idea that will sell, but do we need it?

I wouldn't mind having a couple different low range gears to choose from, but a lot of it depends on the $$. It will be interesting to see how well they work in the real world, by that I mean Moab of course.

I got the Atlas 4 Speed this year with the electric shifter for my automatic Unlimited. If you press it without being in neutral, there is a pretty good chance it will break the sheer pin and you will get nothing! If you have the choice, better take the manual cable shifter.

I've got one in my buggy. They're awesome. I had a doubler with 2.0, 1.96, 3.92 gear ratios when I was running 5.13's and 44's.
With the 4sp I have 2.72:1, 3.77:1, and 10.25:1 which for me is perfect.
It makes my crawl ratios approximately as follows (With 5.38's):
2.72 - 1st gear 37:1 2nd gear 22:1 3rd gear 15:1
3.77 - 1st gear 51:1 2nd gear 31:1 3rd gear 20:1
10.25 1st gear 139:1 2nd gear 84:1 3rd gear 55:1
If you've never driven with 10:1, it's a very useful gear. Especially in low / low 2nd.
I've run everything in Moab with it and it's far better than my old doubler. I prefer different gearing for everything.
