I'm situated 'tween Houston and galveston TX. We're coming to your play ground on a winter driving / photo trip. I figured the local folks would have the best information ( coffee, donuts, parts stores) so I signed up. I've wanted to visit for as long as I been wheelin and now I've got the time and money. And when " She who must be obeyed" said that's where we were going, how could I say no? ? Since I'm not into giant crowds a winter trip sounded great.

Winter as in when exacxtly? Winter in the desert is pretty short - you can usually do most trails about 10 months out of the year.... some years 12.

I like that name!!!!!! I may start having my husband call me "[glow=red,2,300]She who must be obeyed"!!![/glow]We would love to wheel with you when you come down. Dec is a nice time, just a little snow but nothing bad. It melts super fast. Let us all know when you are coming down.

We're still working on the exact dates, but when we do arrive ( TaDa) . We'll be in a 04 Red L J It's been slightly modified, and since it's a DD I've not gone toooooo crazy. 33's a 4" short arm and 1" body that gice me some pretty good flex, for what I've got. 4.88 gears with the Auto. and some useful armor. Lets see, UHF VHF AIR CB SAT And a bunch of doo-dads.

Are we there Yet? Well the travel coordinator has us arriving on the 12th. We have to go by and see some Grand canyon stuff, then up to brice first, then to MOAB. If I get my new gears working right. She sent me a link about some road conditions and closures from the NPS, I had to tell her that's nice. But I wouldn't worry about it till we get there, "cause weather related stuff is only good for a couple days ( unless a bridge washed out)

We'll be in Moab on the 13th. If you're around by then, give Dave a shout and we can possibly hook up for a trail that day. Have a dinner to go to that night, but we will be wheeling 'til around 4 pm.

Thanks to all who offered to go "Play" errr help if we needed it. But in our attempt to have an Offroading vacation , the Jeep Spent 7 days of our 10 day vacation sitting at 2 different dealers for repairs. If you've ever had a Ford Taurus, you know there ain't much off road to be had. We did get to town early enough to run out to Arches and snap a few photos before dark. then ate dinner at the brewery( did not sign up to win bicycle). first place I've ever ordered Spinach enchiladas that weighed a pound!!!
