My feelings are, who cares the functionality of it. they obviously did not build it to use it for anything other than sitting in a parking lot and have people drool over it. We all build jeeps every day that we can not do anything with but pull them off the trailer and wheel them then pull it back on the trailer, many people think we are stupid for doing this. I think there has been a ton of fabrication and hours of work that has gone into building the above rig. Bottom line is this, it is a pupose built rig just like a comp buggy an I respect the thought and effort that has gone into this. Come on people outside the box please.

Show trucks are GAY!! I use my Jeep for many reasons, it is NOT single-dimensional in purpose! So tell me this do you feel barts new rig is "STUPID" or "LAME" or "GAY". Lets ask him what he will be using this for. I am wiling to bet he will say strickly Rock Crawling. The Work that has gone into this is amazing. And I think everyone here will say this is an awsome rig. BUT it is a purpose built rig. Just like the above truck.   I am not trying to be a jerk, but I dont think that something that someone has put so much time into should be bashed. Besides Dave I would be pissed if you posted a picture of your CJ (that My Dad and I have put hours and hours into working on) and people started bashing it.  |

Orange TJ, we are not trying sound disrespectful to what you find cool, or pleasing to look at. As for myself I take great pride in fabricating things for myself. I'll bet the fellow who owns that thing did none of the work himself, therefore it has no appeal to me.
It also sits so high that the tires are not in the wheelwells at all. So it might as well be a "Allison Tri-Hull Bass Boat" sitting on top of those leaf springs.
However, you like it and that's cool with me. It's just my opinion.

I understand that you like it and think it's cool. Bart's rig is also cool, but in a very differant way. Everything on Bart's rig is very purposfully built, as you said. The difference is, his is built for a practiaal, useful purpose. I'm sure, Bart will use, abuse, dent, ding, scratch, and possibly roll his vehicle but everything on it is built for that purpose; not to mention driving over some truly insane terrain with speed, agility, and minimal damage. On the other hand, the hideous monstrocity of a so-called truck you showed is built for one reason, to look pretty. Now if you showed me a picture of this truck up to it's gills in mud, or blasting through sand dunes, or crawling up the Rock Pile then I'd say ya, that's a pregnant dogin' truck. But when it is parked in front of some highrise, then ya I say it's "STUPID" or "LAME" or "GAY". Answer this, why spend over $3000 (for 5 tires, MSRP) for some of the best mud/sand/rock tires when THEY WILL NEVER SEE EVEN A DIRT ROAD!!!!!!!
Now i'm not saying the engineering isn't impressive, or that the fabrication isn't top notched. But why waste the money on top quality purpose built componets that will NEVER be used for their intended design?
