For those of you who have been wondering (I know it's been driving at least one of you crazy, Jeremey), about the two extra categories down at the bottom of the main page, you can relax. We would like to make the official announcement that Moab now has a new club!
We know, we know, you're probably wondering why Moab of all places would need another club, especially when we have the Red Rock 4-Wheelers in town. The RR4W are a wonderful organization, and we appreciate all they do. But it seems that their main attention seems to gravitate mainly toward Jeep Safari. Most of us are still members of the RR4W, and we don't have anything against them.
A few people finally have got together to talk about getting some sort of group together who can mainly focus on land use issues, trail maintenance and repair, supporting off-road education, and promoting responsible four-wheeling. We hope to work closely with the RR4W on these issues.
We are a locals-only club, just like RR4W. As of right now we aren't planning on associate members. There are minimal rules and regulations. Our club president is Jeff Stevens (drtsqrl), and secretary/treasurer is Holly Jensen (MOOOAB). We also have 3 board members.
We are just starting out and hope that this will help make a difference around here. We are very excited!
As for the We Be Jeepin', it's a list of people around Moab, whether or not they belong to either club, who just want to go out and 4-wheel. We try to get together a couple of times a month. Different people lead different trails, hard or easy.
