we tried to pre run Copper ridge today . Sherry Hoskins is to lead the womens run on friday of the jeep safari . we made it about 1/3 of the way and got stopped at an obstacle that would be ok dry but today it had about 6" of snow and about a foot of blue mud . not wanting to have anyone life flighted out today we backed off to wheel another day south of the canyon north side of the canyon it was muddy out there since Daves green jeep isn't done he got his wifes jeep dirty even Gunner had mud on his face

I miss Moab. Cabin fever is kickin' my but. Years ago I helped Ber map Copper ridge for the Safari Permit. Good times.

During the mapping of the trail we found those dino tracks that are now signed - the BLM was worried about us driving over them so I filled them with blow sand to protect them. Later they came out and made a detour around them so you can still drive up the ridge to the mine. I thought it was funny they were concerned about us damaging tracks that were uncovered by a dozer, and had who knows how many loads of ore hauled over them.

the tracks are not far from where we turned back but aon the other side of the wash . there is a sign out there ane there are rocks blocking the old road so you cant drive over them .
