Moab Friends-For-Wheelin' held its first official workday on Saturday March 12 in Pritchett Canyon. Six members and 2 guests spent the day installing new carsonite signs, trailhead signs and "revegetation area" signs, raking out tracks, and lining the trail with rocks. We had a great time, the weather was fantastic, and hopefully we helped to lessen some future damage.
On Saturday evening we heard from another member that not a single jeeper had shown up to help on the Escalator / Hells Gate fencing project that had been organized by the BLM and Sand Flats. This important project was to build fences to keep people out of sensitive areas around these obstacles. As long as the fences are respected, the obstacles will remain open. We quickly made a few phone calls, and even though most of us had other plans, we managed to round up 6 members and 1 guest for Sunday. The fences at Escalator were completed, and a good start was made on Hells Gate. We are going back on Wednesday to finish up.
Thank you to all MFFW members and guests for their help. I'll try to post some pictures soon.
Jeff

Looks great guys! Way to go! In this day and age we need to stay well connected with the BLM. Excellent work on helping keep those trails open, we don't want to lose them.
