Yeah I already got my leader form. Man it seems early to start thinking about that! I'll probably do the usual - Poison Spider, Gold Bar, maybe Moab Rim, Maybe Fins n Things, maybe 7 Mile Rim. I try to get all the work out of the way early in the week so I can avoid crowds later in the week. Bah Humbug

Gunning: Sat.-Hell's Revenge, Thur.-Golden Spike, Fri.-Kane Creek Canyon. Which brings up a question. As of the last newsletter, Kane Creek was impassable to all but motorbikes. Any updates?

BLM and San Juan County are aware of the washout on Kane Creek, but as of last week it has not been fixed yet. If you are narrow (and don't care if you might fall into a 12'-14' deep gully), you can try and go by the washout. There is also a very steep, loose, ledgy, off-camber bypass. Neither option is viable for EJS.

Jeff can answer that. I'll have to double check my EJS schedule, but all I can remember is I'm leading 7-mile rim again. I know there's more. Curtis, I'll probably be there to help out with Kane Creek again also. Maybe if I'm there this time you won't get back so late!

The washout is in the begining to middle area, just before you drop down and start all the creek crossings. The bypass is just before the gully, and climbs over a knoll an the left side of the trail.

Coming down for a quick trip, thurs-sun. Running Gold Bar Rim with the Safari group on Friday. Bringing the big car down this year, put my OX in the front and 5.13's, and my 36's show up tomorrow. Hope to have the hyd-assist steering done also. Plus a few finishing touches on the cage. Should be fun!
