No, not for nothing. They still needed to attend to the pipe and do what they've already done to the trail, but they just decided to leave the rest of the trail alone, since it's possible for them to take a different route.

We ran Cliffhanger the Tuesday after Christmas and it wasn't as terrible as I thought it might be. Up to the ledge is definitely a lot easier, but we had a stock Rubicon with and they had to work at it nonetheless. There are still some fun ledges and side climbs that made for a good time. That being said though, I hope there is a ton of rain and a lot of stock yahoos up there during EJS to clean all the dirt out and return it to it's grand state soon!!

We found out at the meeting this month that the Cliffside obstacle did end up getting filled in. They took a quad-cab Ford pickup all the way out to the pipeline. The trail at this point is probably rated about a 3.
