So how exactly do you get your Jeep and a camp trailer to Moab?
Two drivers I suppose, or two trucks and trailers... I'm kind of in that sticky situation. It's a place to stay, or a Jeep to drive.

That's the problem with a pull behind trailer, which toy to bring.

So what are you bringing -- motorhome? Trailer and renting a Jeep? I've thought about both, but motorhome cost to much, and you have to maintain it. The only good solution would be a cramped pickup camper . Not to hijack this thread -- but it is still possible to attend EJS 2006? I have a cargo van, trailer, and jeep on said trailer and live about 8 hours away (~500-600 miles). Lodging is not possible anymore -- I would like to camp somewhere (preferably free?) where I can leave the Van and trailer during the days and still expect them to be there when I get back. I would bring a tent, but sleeping in the van is possible I guess if it gets really nasty out (cargo... no seats). Can you still get trail reservations too?

Call 435-259-ROCK about trail reservations. Camping is pretty much a first come, first serve type thing when it comes to free camping atleast; so the earlier you get here the better.

What are my prospects for day and overnight (2wd) truck parking and 16 foot trailer?

Hey guys, sorry to bring up a old thread but no real use to start a new one!!
I used to camp all the time just south of Moab where the exit to Behind the Rocks/Pritchet Canyon is. The area directly across 191 from the turn off to area BFE. Anyway, I heard that area is closed? Is that true.

Currently, I believe yes. To make a long story short, BLM closed their site, but just down the road the state is making a new one. I don't if or when it will be open though.

Re: the BLM areas on 313 - do not choose the third area. VERY MUCH SAND. The first and second ones should work well for a trailer. These are primitive - no water, toilet, fee. More info on these areas please. I'm trying to find them on Google Earth without much luck. How far down 313 are they? Before or after the switchbacks or are these around the Dubinky Road area?

The sites down close to 191 have been closed for about a year, but up on top past the switchback theres some camping out by Dubinky Wells Rd.
